Wiki 5:
Get the pun, Wiki 5 instead of Week 5? HeHeHe! Anyway, this Library Success wiki is a bit overwhelming. With all the topics to go to and a lot of wonderful resources and ideas that are just a click away was simply glorious. I had fun browsing through the display and how to sell your library topics and a bit of a dip in the training topics and am not even halfway through all of the other topics though. It is really an eye opener that technology had come a long way because we can access and share all these even if we are all miles away form each other. So what's our next step after this? Do we wait for a "Google doc" from Celeste? Just keep me posted.

De.li.cious Module Yum
I am not sure if this is the way you're suppose to add it to the blog but I can't seem to figure out how I can put it on the sidebar of the blog. I had used up all my powers really! The same goes with the librarything which I had hoped to put onto the sidebar but had failed miserable. Widgets are still a very grey area for me and would need Celeste to explain it further.
This is again a very informative module. I can imagine how people can spend hours upon hours on the computer. It really feel like you have the whole world under your fingertips. Its kinda awesome and mindblowing in a way.
I think it all depends on the way you create your tags to classify stuff. One maybe humourous to you but not to others. I think tagging stuff is a way of personalizing anything. It would be very helpful to know that you can access a place where everything you'd consider useful will just be a click away. Maybe this would come in handy if you are on desk or maybe you can recommend it to patrons and they can try it at home.
oh and here's my account address delicious.com/nzpinoy

Library thang!
I hope this is right! Love this site coz I can finally remember books I had already read and feel oh so proud! HeHeHe!! Not enough books though in my opinion so ite is also a great place to check out books that have been read by others that I might enjoy as well. I remember a similar database, Books and Authors, at the MyGateway databases which I am very fond of.
Here's my address http://www.librarything.com/catalog/nzpinoy
Failed with the widgets thing though....

Module 3 Part 2
Folding:
How To Fold A T-Shirt In 2 Seconds - Explained
Success again. Hahaha!!! I was a bit frustrated with this because it seemed so easy its annoying that I couldn't embed the video that i wanted. Until I figured out that I had to copy and paste the embed thing instead of the link.Duh! It is such a sense of accomplishment really! I am truly enjoying these modules as I progress along.
The Videojug as see it seems intended to enrich your knowledge about different areas of DIY's and How to's.And it has these different categories that had been grouped together to help you along. I liked this How to fold your shirt in 2 seconds thing because I am not too much into folding the wash and would find other things to do before i start folding away. So I liked this video from Videojug which is a sort of a tutorial and easy to follow.
Vimeo is sort of caters to people who are really into the video and creating high calibre stuff. I think it looks like professional work and stuff and looks like the works there had really been done by people who do this for a living or seriously into it.
YouTube is more of an anything goes site. It is a sort of no holds barred video mayhem. It is a place where you can be a star for a few minutes and i think mostly a place for budding amateurs who just want to have taste of the spotlight. I often use it to search for videos of my lost childhood movies or animes and sesame st. fave songs. HeHehe!
It is good to know that there are other sites that I could recommend to patrons other than YouTube which is the only one I am familiar with.
Module 3 Part 1
This is a very fascinating module indeed! I just used some sample photos from the computer, due to a shortage of personal photos available, which I sort of manipulated a bit to make it look different for copyright purposes. Hoping of course that it indeed is unrecognizable by the owner. Anyway, I had as usually heaps of fun with this module. I am discovering a new world out there. I would have to go and get busy at home to upload our photos to free up space in my computer. I wanted to make a gallery but it said that I would have to make my photos public inorder to do that so I didn't. I don't know though if this link will help http://www.flickr.com/photos/hagibis/. I also tried adding tags and making a set which were both successful thank heavens! Ohhh or maybe I can invite you so you can view it. But I haven't figured that out yet. i guess I would have to have your email address or something.I found Flickr very user friendly specially for technology virgins like me hahaha! I've looked into Google and Yahoo image as well but opted to use Flickr cause I find it easier to navigate.

Module 2 RSS
When I started Module 2 the only definition for "feed" that I know pertains with food, as in eating. What a hoot isn't it? Anyway I found this RSS thing really addictive! I had to set a time limit from now on or else I'll be in trouble with the bosses. I was a bit worried about this Module at first but the Google Reader is really a cool and helpful tool to use. I was able to subscribe and manage my subscription quiet easily which was surprising. It was really fun to navigate through the tools to set up the reader and I must say I found this Module enjoyable.
With regards to the using it for work, I think it would all depend if my subscriptions are also the ones that interest the customers. I guess I might able to recommend it to them or be more confident about the technology because I am somehow familiar with it.
It would really benefit the library because if people subscribe to our feed then we would have a lot of online traffic if you call it that, and that would really boost the use of the library's catalogue and patrons would really be aware of what we can offer them because they would always has a dose of what we have to offer straight away.

Blogs I Find Interesting
I finally had a chance to choose the blogs that interest me. Well here are 5 of them which I currently find interesting:
- http://awfullibrarybooks.wordpress.com - this is a blog was created by 2 librarians that looks at books in the collection of public library holdings that they find amusing and maybe questionable for public libraries trying to maintain a current and relevant collection.
- http://gluttononabudget.blogspot.com - I am missing all my native food from the Philippines and this site helps me keep in touch with all the yummy stuff we have back home.
- http://thestilettojungle.com - I love to shop but am a bit stingy so I like to keep up to date with the latest fashion trends and bargains and this site has helpful tips in a fun and easy layout
- http://www.planetphotoshop.com - is a tutorial about Photoshop and has really easy step by step guide to follow which is what I truly, truly need.
- http://conceptnutrition.com.au - its a site that deals with weight management and healthy eating which I feel is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Baby Steps
I am currently on Module 1 and a bit confident about it because I am familiar with the library blogs. I feel like using the colour orange because I have an orange top today anyway on with Module 1.
Of course I am a loyalist so I looked at our blogs, Wellington City Libraries Teens and Kids Blogs:
- I like the Teens Blog because its layout is very catchy and up to date. If I am a teen I would be drawn to explore it more because the contents and layout are very appealing. Its not jumbled up and is quiet straight forward.
- I also like the Kids Blog because it is very simple and appropriate to the age group that it is focusing on. It has various topics that the children would like to read about and recommendations that they can actually do or access.
I haven't checked out the other blogs, aside form the library, that I can review because I'll be on desk soon. Will try to look at it today in between all the other bits and pieces that I have to finish up.
